  • To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive and serviceable citizenship.

  • To provide a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render unselfish service and to build better communities.

  • To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which makes possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism and good will.

Structure of Key Club

International

Key Club is an international organization comprised of 33 districts and includes clubs in countries that are not within specific districts. Key Club is led by the International Board of Trustees which includes the International President, International Vice President, and 11 International Trustees. Members of the International Board of Trustees are elected by delegates at the annual International Convention.

Districts

Each district is led by a District Board which is comprised of elected and appointed students. District Boards are led by the Executive Board members – this typically includes the Governor, Secretary, Treasurer, and Editor. Executive Board members are elected by delegates at the annual District Conventions. Following a District Convention, District Committee Chairs are appointed through an application by the Executive District Board to assist with their term. The District Board also includes Lieutenant Governors that act as a liaison between the district and divisions.

Divisions

Districts are divided into divisions that are comprised of various clubs. Each division has a Lieutenant Governor, a student leader that oversees the activities of all the clubs within their division and provides support to club officers with dues, projects, and management. Lieutenant Governors are elected by the clubs of their division.

Clubs

Key Clubs are established in a high school or equivalent institution. A community-based club also may be chartered. An Officer Board typically includes the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Editor. Club officers are elected by the members of their home club. Following elections, committee members are appointed through an application by the Officer Board to assist with their term.
