Dear PNW Key Clubbers,
DCON IS CANCELLED
It saddens us to announce that DCON 2020 Wild West Service has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 epidemic. The advice of local Portland authorities as well as Washington State's Governor, Jay Inslee, have been taken into account by the PNW Executive Committee to make this decision.
Please see the page below with the most recent updates about lockdown logistics from the Executive Committee
Following the cancellation of DCON, and state lockdowns due to the spread of the virus, the District Administrator has released a statement announcing DCON 2020 cancellation. View it below.
Please stay updated with state and local authorities as this situation progresses. Linked to the right are the official state pages for the virus for the most recent updates.
DCON: Awards, Competitions, and Elections
All talent competitions scheduled for DCON 2020 have been canceled.
Awards that were to be presented at closing session have already been judged and the winners have been released in the bi-weekly email update 24. Read it below!
Awards will be mailed to the recipients within the following months (this may be delayed due to state lock down orders).
Elections for the District Executives for the 2020-21 term were conducted virtually by a quorum of the 2019-2020 District Board on March 15th. Election results have also been released in the same email update
As mentioned in the D.A.'s statement, DCON attendees will be receiving partial refunds for their registration fee. This is logistically challenging, and refunds are partial because several costs associated with convention cannot be refunded. PNW Key Club prides itself on being an organization which is prepared and organized, and is able to accomplish this refund for such a large event for that reason.
DCON Training Workshops
Slides for the training workshops planned for DCON 2020 will be released soon! Meanwhile, communicate with your outgoing officers, and work with them to produce a master drive of materials for your term.
Look out for officer training conferences (OTCs) that your LTG will hold later this year.
Thirst Project Merchandise
At this time, LTGs will be delayed in receiving their division's Thirst Project merchandise orders because of "stay at home" restrictions and related school closures.
Further updates will be provided after April 28th when schools are scheduled to reopen.
