LT. GOVERNOR'S CLUB VISITATION REPORT INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Record the number of persons present. If not at least 15, find out why.
  2. If the president does not follow an agenda, show them how after the meeting and let them know you will be back to check that an agenda is being followed.
  3. If the club does not have good working committees, find out why not and explain the function committees have on a healthy KEY Club.
  4. If the club does not meet weekly at a set time and place, find out why and suggest they begin a regular pattern.
  5. If the advisor is not present, there is a big potential problem. Find out why the advisor is not there and contact the sponsoring Kiwanis president. Urge the Kiwanis president to contact the advisor, and if necessary, the school principal. If the advisor is doing more than advising, also present this problem to the Kiwanis president and your area administrator. If either of these are constant problems, contact the KEY club governor and district administrator immediately!
  6. If the club has not paid their dues, find out why. If there is a financial crisis, ask the sponsoring Kiwanis club for help. Encourage prompt payment of dues. KEY club cannot function without payment of dues.
  7. If the president is not handing out publications and newsletters, find out why. Ask club members if they feel they are being kept informed of club, district and international activities.
  8. Delegates should have been selected for district convention upon receiving the convention registration information. Encourage them to have two members plus an alternate represent the club at convention to vote on issues facing their club.
  9. Encourage clubs to participate in district convention. Encourage early registration. Encourage participation in district contests. There are a number of contests that each club can enter.
  10. Encourage clubs to start saving early for international convention. Encourage your club to participate in this very rewarding experience.
  11. If there is a problem with service projects or fundraisers, find out why. Review the district project directory with the president and offer comments about other clubs projects.
  12. Inquire if they regularly attend Kiwanis meetings and participate in joint activities.
  13. By February 28 find out if new club officers have been elected and reported to the district administrator. This information is required for the directory.
